Quote from "Stepping Heavenward" by Mrs. E. Prentiss

"She says I shall now have one mouth more to fill and two feet the more to shoe, more disturbed nights, more laborious days, and less leisure or visiting, reading, music and drawing.

Well! This is one side of the story, to be sure, but I look at the other.

Here is a sweet, fragrant mouth to kiss; here are two more feet to make music with their pattering about my nursery. Here is a soul to train for God; and the body in which dwells is worthy of all it will cost, since it is the abode of a kingly tenant. I may see less of friends, but I have gained one dearer than them all, to whom, while I minister in Christ's name, I make a willing sacrifice of what little leisure for my own recreation my other dear darlings had left me. Yes, my precious baby, you are welcome to her time, her strength, her health, her tenderest cares, to her lifelong prayers! Oh, how rich I am, how truly, wondrously blest!"

Preach It!!

We have a dangerous, demanding, yet supremely delightful and destiny-fulfilling God-authored, Christ-centered, cross-shaped, and resurrection empowered –WHOLE GOSPEL, that is not just in word only – but in power in the Holy Spirit, with much assurance! God desires that His people recover and are captivated and motivated with a passion for His-Story – the Big, Good News Story that’s played out on the stage of life with a God-entranced view of the world; that’s hope-filled, joy-abounding, Spirit-empowered, Christ-exalting, and devil-crushing, and world-conquering!And it is too good to keep to ourselves! So, tell it out and shout it out, and let the whole wayward world know that GOD is great and good and the gospel is the greatest news ever to fall own human ears!

Be Still

I am not sure about you, but I need this reminder often.   I KNOW He is Lord, but I am not often still.

I can keep so busy that I don't enjoy the moment I am in, give adequate attention to my husband, children, or home.   I often wake up running to the Y, home to prepare breakfast, school, chores, errands, appointments, etc. and before I know it I have sped through an entire week.   Sometimes, like this week, it cannot be helped.   I am thankful to be able to help my mom while she recovers from surgery on 2 broken bones.   However, sometimes, I get too focused on the list of to do's and not enough on His Word, in prayer, or the sweet blessings that surround me.  This is a reminder to me today that as I get my ever growing list done, take time with the Lord, sing with my family as we live out our days together, let His Word fill my heart and home, be thankful, and laugh.    Hope you have a wonderful, joy-filled week!!
